“Senior Idol” competition in the works

The Club TNT Anna Mae Mitchell “Senior Idol” competition is coming soon! It’s your chance to show the community that life gets more interesting and exciting after age 55.
Committee members gathered at Old Country Buffet on Madison’s east side March 4 to lay the groundwork for a elaborate contest that will culminate in a Finals Competition at the 2008 Dane County Fair July 16-20.
Categories will include vocal, dance, instrumental, and comedy. The competition will be a fun and motivational experience for today’s active older adults. It’s a competition for amateurs only — many of the participants will have never performed before a live audience.
Mrs. Anna Mae Mitchell (1910-1987) was well-known throughout Madison through her many decades of distinguished work as a community activist and active volunteer with a diverse group of people.
Participants in the Anna Mae Mitchell “Senior Idol”competition must have turned at least 55 years of age by January 1, 2008.
