MADISON — On June 15, the 1st annual Soul Stroll Madison will be held in conjunction with the Juneteenth Festival at Madison’s Penn Park.
The Soul Stroll features a 1-Mile and 3-Mile Walk, which is a perfect way to get the required 30 minutes of daily physical activity. Participants can warm up with the Zumba instructor, and in addition, can stroll through the Health Tent to take advantage of blood pressure screenings, eye exams, diabetes education presentations, and much more.
The Soul Stroll Health Movement began in San Mateo, California, and has quickly spread to Sacramento, Calif., Tempe, Az., and now Madison. Past honorary guests at Soul Stroll events have included Stedman Graham, Danny Glover, Ben Vereen, Martha Gibbs, and Regina M. Benjamin — United States Surgeon General.
Our honorary guest for the 1st annual Soul Stroll Madison is actor and comedian Dannon Green. Mr. Green has co-starred in John Singleton’s “Baby Boy” and Damon Wayans’ “Behind the Smile.” Green has a reoccurring role in the TV show Everybody Hates Chris and he regularly appears on Comics Unleashed. Green is excited to greet Soul Stroll participants at the finish line and will treat everyone to a live comedy show afterwards.
The event will be held from 11 a.m.-4 p.m and the cost is $15, which includes the walk, T-shirts, heath tent, and comedy show. For more information or to register, contact Aaron Perry of Rebalanced-Life Wellness Association at Aprunwalk@gmail.com or visit the web site www.rebalanced-life.org/
