Madison’s “La Movida” expands to North Central Illinois
MADISON — On Monday, June 10, WNTA AM 1330 in Rockford began broadcasting as “La Movida,” the first and only 24/7 Spanish-language station in the Rockford region and second Spanish-language radio station for Mid-West Family Broadcasting. WLMV “La Movida” 1480 AM has been broadcasting in Madison for more than 11 years.
“La Movida is more than just a radio station, it is a way of life for the Latino community in Madison,” Program Director Luis Montoto said. “We are now honored to provide the same service to Rockford and the surrounding communities in the region.”
La Movida will continue to establish and maintain important relationships with governmental agencies as well as non-governmental groups and non-profits. These relationships have been vital in improving the livelihood of Madison’s Latino community. La Movida has been a bridge between the Latino community and these groups and will work to form the same collaborations in the Rockford region.
Listeners in the Rockford area will get more than just Spanish-language chart-topping hits; they will also get news and information that impacts the Latino community on top of local weather, traffic and sports.
